Cape Town to Mexico!

It has been a great start to 2011, as I am writing this newsletter from Playa del Carmen, 50km south of Cancun – Mexico!
Interesting to say the least, but I won’t bore you with all the vacation details or pictures. What has impressed me the most is the hospitality of the people, who really have gone out of their way to make our trip a pleasurable one. The staff at our resort were exceptional and accommodating at all times, showing professionalism with a warm smile!
If South Africans were wondering about impact of the 2010 World Cup has had on the rest of the world – then ‘Waka Waka’ must surely be the word most used in Mexico. Proudly South African is the way I felt when people enquired from where we came (40hrs total travel time).
This country is about beer, tequila, colour and history. Wine is not part of the culture here, although they do make a few stylish examples, however I am disappointed in the variety (lack thereof) of some South African choices on various wine lists and supermarket shelves.
The cuisine of the country definitely lends itself to  some remarkable wines from South Africa. Could this be an opening for South African wineries? I definitely think so, especially within the Hotel Zone of Cancun and the resort area of Playa del Carmen! If you have your wines listed somewhere in Mexico, do drop us an email and let us know where.
Now back to business!
If your companies budget is under review for the next financial year, then please include our products and services in your budget!
Bookings are now open for staff wine training.
Our food and wine pairing evenings will commence in late February and the complete schedule will be available on our website at the beginning of February.
Have you seen our YouTube video clip? If not then watch it here.
Winestyle.biz is also looking to expand our wine list design program, so if you feel that a list that you have seen out and about, needs a bit of attention – please do not hesitate in forwarding the venues details.
